Comments: Sushi: 19th century McDonald's equivalent
Interesting quote, but I have to quibble. When we think of high-end, "authentic" sushi today, we envision rich, fatty slices of smooth tuna and creamy salmon arranged on a pristine plate — the height of elegant Japanese cuisine. Well, you do if you're gaijin. Sushi is the Japanese term for the sweetened, vinegared rice. The fish slices are actually sashimi. Posted by Chris Taylor at October 19, 2007 11:53 AM

According to my referrer logs, easily 99%+ of my readership falls into that category. ;-) Posted by Nicholas at October 19, 2007 01:45 PM
