Anybody can drive anything the car manufacturers sell. All the "is it appropriate" garbage is just yobs playing greener-than-thou to the audience.
One thing that always makes me chuckle about the true-believers in any movement is that the guys that don't get it are "stupid" or "selfish". Not that the movement's selling job is ineffectual, poorly organised, or does not resonate with its target audience. No. Our bad selling job is your fault! You're stupid and selfish!
